Davies Henderson Irving Road

WHAT WE DID

This incredible property enjoyed a feature article in VOGUE under the title ‘House Tour: The Melbourne Mansion With Gucci In Almost Every Room’ — and it was a true thrill to work on. Considering that architect Travis Walton travelled to Los Angeles, New York and all over Europe “looking for masters and their makings” who could carry out the client’s vision, it was a true honour for Formanova to be called on to participate!
We were brought in by Davies Henderson Builders to apply a custom patina to the brass window frames and phenomenal floor-to-ceiling entry doors, adding to the opulent, old-world aesthetic of the stunning interiors. While we don’t usually perform work on site, we undertook the delicate task of ageing the brass by hand in situ to achieve the exact effect the client was after. In an on-site project like this, where the door and window frames were already installed, there was no opportunity to discard a reject and begin again — so our application techniques had to be precise and immaculate.
